Smoky Mountain National Park: White Oak Sink

This area of the Smoky Mountain National Park was only recently opened to the public. Prior to being opened locals would sneak here for the wonderful displays of wildflowers and a very interesting waterfall that flows directly underground.

One of my favorite locations to photograph flowing water is in the Tremont area of the Smoky Mountain National Park. The foliage looks like fall color but it was taken last week which was early spring. Maple trees show their colors for only a week or two in the spring before turning completely green. I [...]
